HI everyone,

Please encourage your parents to contact our Legislatures to and ask them to vote NO on 2 bills concerning abortion. This is crazy, if this passes then a woman can have an abortion any time in the 9 months of pregnancy. To me this is murder, murder of a child. Please help us all stop HB2495, and HB 2467 from passing.
Our school is doing some right to life marches in town and have banners up.

This first is this, it takes control right away from parents. They are:

House Bill (HB) 2467: Parent Notice Abortion- Repeal, and HB 2495: The Reproductive Health Act.
No longer will require parent or guardian consent for a minor having an abortion, nor will it notify parent or guardians/

HB2495

HB 2495 — the Reproductive Health Act — entirely repeals the Illinois Abortion Law of 1975 and creates a fundamental right to abortion, with no restrictions or limitations, for any reason, through out the full nine months of pregnancy.
the Reproductive Health Act — allows for non-doctors to do surgical abortions. This includes, but is not limited to, physicians, advanced practice registered nurses, physicians’ assistants, or a person acting under the supervision of one of the above.
the Reproductive Health Act — mandates that all private health insurance plans cover abortions without any restrictions (for any reasons, with no limits as to the number of abortions a year, and throughout the full nine months of pregnancy) or copays or any cost-sharing of any kind.

I am Catholic and think abortion is wrong. A lot of people would adopt kids, so why are we killing them? God created a baby inside of a woman, why should she decide this gift from God should be killed.

Although I respect both of your opinions, I totally disagree with your rational. My body belongs to me, if I got pregnant and felt I was not emotionally prepared to bear a child, than that decision should be mine.

Not all of us here are Catholic, so please remember that. I agree with the above post. How do you know keeping this baby is what God wants? I have not been brainwashed by your church so I am keeping an open mind here.

Excuse me, brainwashed? No, we call it faith, and being exposed to our religion. How can you justify killing a baby that is formed as a living human being at 9 months if this bill passes? Do you have any regard for a human life? If anyone believes murdering a baby at full term is okay I really feel sorry for you, because your ideology in thinking this is okay totally disgusts me, and tells me something about the type of person you are.

Watch it Talyn, that last sentence can be viewed as you attacking someone's character. Not a smooth move as owner of Teen Lounge to do. Maybe this issue has you too emotionally attached so you should just keep your comments private.
A few people here have a problem with you as it is, don't make it harder on yourself.
For the record I agree it's a woman's choice but should be done within the first 3 months, I agree with Talyn it is wrong to do when you have an almost full grown baby at 9 months

Killing a baby at 9 months is murder, plain and simple, and anyone who see's nothing wrong with this is too stupid to even post on here.

I feel by not allowing a girl's parents or guardian to know that she is planning on, or having an abortion is depriving her of getting the emotional support she needs from people who care about her. Why should the State take away the right of a parent to know what is going on with their child? As far as this revised proposal , people other than a Dr can perform an abortion? What kind of reasoning is that? And why would it be allowed to kill a baby at full term?
I am not sure what legislatures proposed these bill amendments but every one of them should be voted out of office.

You people here that think it's okay to abort a baby anytime between conception and nine months show no signs of decency. If we allow this what's next, letting a mother kill her kid if he is not older than 2?

The only time I feel abortion should be allowed is in the case of rape, or incest. I agree parents should be notified, and abortion must be done within 3 months of a woman getting pregnant.
